Das Projekt ONLINEFILM
Gemeinsam mit unseren Partnern haben wir mit www.onlinefilm.org eine legale Distributionsplattform, für deutsche und internationale Filme, im Internet geschaffen. Über unsere Website können Filme online kostengünstig in Europa und der ganzen Welt verbreitet und vermarktet werden.


Was haben wir bisher erreicht und wohin wollen wir?

Neben der deutschen Onlinefilmseite existieren mittlerweile zahlreiche Länderportale. So verfügen Griechenland, Italien, Irland, Lettland, Litauen und Slowenien bereits über eine eigene Onlinefilm-Website, weitere Länderportale werden folgen.
Die Vielfalt der Filmsprachen und Filmbeschreibungen wächst nicht zuletzt mit der Anzahl der Länder, die an unserem Projekt teilhaben und mitwirken. Neben englisch- und deutschsprachigen Filmen findet man nunmehr unter anderem lettisch-, griechisch- oder auch italienischsprachige Filmeinträge und Filme auf unserer Website.
So kommen wir unserem Ziel, so viele Filme wie möglich aus so vielen Ländern wie möglich legal zum Download bereit zu stellen, immer näher.

Derzeit werden auf ONLINEFILM hauptsächlich Dokumentarfilme zum Kauf und Download angeboten. In Zukunft soll das Angebot jedoch auf alle Filmgenres ausgeweitet werden.


Mit welcher Software arbeiten wir und warum?

Für den Betrieb und die Programmierung des Portals nutzen wir beinahe ausschließlich Open-Source-Software. So bleiben die Preise der Filme, durch niedrige Transaktionskosten, gering.

Zur Verbreitung der Filmdaten verwenden wir die Peer-to-Peer Software Miro (www.getmiro.com) oder die Software BitTorrent (www.bittorrent.com). Diese Programme sind in der Lage große Datenmengen schnell und kostengünstig über das Internet zu verteilen. Sie haben sich im Laufe der Jahre als zuverlässig und anwenderfreundlich bewährt.


Filme zu fairen Preisen anbieten, wie funktioniert das?

Zum Schutz der Filme nutzen wir so genannte Digital-Rights-Management-Syteme. Jedoch nicht primär, da diese teuer und ineffizient sind. Stattdessen setzen wir auf Transparenz und Prozessgerechtigkeit. Die Einsparungen, die wir durch die Verwendung modernster Technologie und den Verzicht auf Trägermedien und Zwischenhändler realisieren, geben wir an die Kunden weiter.

Dem Kunden werden Preisgestaltung und Verteilung der Einnahmen offen gelegt. So wird ihm verdeutlicht, dass er neben der Struktur, die das Finden und den Download der Filme ermöglicht, nur die Urheber und Produzenten bezahlt. Aufgrund der Transparenz des Zahlprozesses erreicht uns eine große Akzeptanz vom Nutzer in Bezug auf die Filmpreise. Wir nennen dieses Prinzip "DIGITAL RIGHTS FAIR TRADE" (DRFT). Es grenzt uns von anderen Anbietern ab und bildet die Grundlage des Systems.

The multilingual market place for European films on the internet. It’s the only portal of its kind owned by filmmakers where films are offered directly to the viewers for a fair price as download to own.

It’s the ultimate place for everyone offering - or looking for - films. Available from everywhere at all times. No matter if you want to sell or buy a film only a computer, broadband- access, some open source software and a PayPal-account are required.


Connecting Europe

Together with our partners and filmmakers from all over Europe, we are uploading films to this platform, and will expand and promote it further. Our aim is to make it possible for as many films from as many countries as possible to be offered to a wide international audience. We have kicked off focusing on documentaries, but already filmmakers have started uploading films of other genres.

Through cooperation’s with our European partners regionalized, personalized and specialized sub portals have already been created, which develop their individual footprint and address their specific clientele.

First partners were found in Italy ZELIG Gen. GmbH, Slovenia Assoc. of SLOVENIAN Filmmakers, Lithuania . TREMORA, Latvia EHO-FILMA, Greece ANEMON PROD. , Austria DOKUZONE. AT and Ireland SOILSIU.

Filmmakers and their organisations from other countries are welcome to become Onlinefilm.org partners as well and help build up partner organisations in their territory, promoting the project and the films, helping them to cross borders.

Our proposal - Offering films on the internet for instant purchase.

If you hold the rights to a film, it is fairly easy to upload your films on our server and to offer them for downloading at a certain price, set by yourself. Any film uploaded in the system can be offered from hundreds of different websites and blogs by simple to use embedding links. The actual purchase of a film will always be conducted through the onlinefilm.org System and the process will be controlled by the right holder of the film until it has been sold. Visit our website where you can find plenty of information about the possibilities our technology offers you to offer your films. And if you need advise how to upload or download a film, we are real people that you can phone and ask. That’s what a Network of partners is for.

Every filmmaker is welcome to upload and sell his films using the www.onlinefilm.org technology! The income generated by each film (minus sales tax/ VAT) is split between the right holder (s) (51%) and ONLINEFILM AG and its partners (49%). As soon as 50,- Euro are due as payment to a right holder the money is transferred at the next first of the month to his account. If you do use the System to offer a film for sale, no money is asked from you for our service except the revenue share of the income generated by selling it.

If you like the Idea and do not only want to use the portal to sell or buy films, we ask you to help us to promote the idea - to the media , other filmmakers, potential shareholders and last but not least - the audience.
